THEY THAT WAIT . . .

Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength;

They will mount up with wings like eagles,

They will run and not get tired,

They will walk and not become weary.

Isaiah 40:31

You cannot believe how applicable that verse is to our 2010 – literally walking and not becoming weary after waiting almost 10 years for pain relief  is the story of us this year.

2010 was a year about many issues and excitement and events.  But yesterday, as Andy and I snowshoed in the single-digit temps I came to think it was more about one thing than anything else – a like new hip for my beloved which has put him in a pain-free position for the first time in almost a decade!

The year started with me returning to the work-force for the first time in over 11 years.  Full time too!

But that job provided two things that were necessary to get that new improved resurfaced  hip – health insurance and additional cashflow.

No matter how much I miss being at home and focused on our family and home all of the time, it was worth it.

Worth it when almost exactly 3 months after getting the new hip, just a few moments after this photo (above) was taken, he turned to me, gave me a sweet little kiss, and said “Thank you for my hip.”

Sort of gives a very tangible example of what it is to be a helpmate.

Then, that afternoon he did this:

Yep, that man of mine went skiing – and he did at least one black diamond run.

All on his three-month new resurfaced hip.

And he was pain-free.

Thank you God for the enormous change you brought into 2010 – a job that allowed us to afford healing and strength in the timing you had for us.  All of this we know came from you!

AMEN!

That, my friends, is a simple but in some ways very thorough summary of the story of 2010 for the AJBs and me.
